Fruit Fest 2011 celebrates the Madison LGBTQA community. The organizers planned the 2nd annual event for Saturday June 18, 2011 in honor of the countless Pride Celebrations around the world during the month of June, the official PRIDE month. Fruit Fest is an all day block party featuring local artists, performances, organizations and businesses.
Kicking off the day will be the first annual Fruit Loop 5K Run/Walk. The event will raise money for a Fruit Fund Scholarship, which will be awarded to an outstanding LGBTQA High School Senior or current college student who shows outstanding Leadership and Activism in the community on LGBTQ issues. Fruit Loop kicks off at 11:00AM. We are encouraging everyone to dress in your “Fruitiest” attire for the FRUIT LOOP. There will be prizes based on age groups/times and an Individual and Team Costume Prizes.
Fruit Fest 2011 presents a lineup rich with talent and experience featuring: Tiffany, B*tch, Erin McKeown, Little Red Wolf, and Athens Boys Choir. Local acts such as Davina DeVille, Cass Marie Domino, and Caj Money will also make an appearance at this years’ event. This year we have added the element of STAR FRUIT, which is local Star Search Karaoke competition that has taken place throughout the months of May and June at Plan B, Madison’s Favorite Gay Night Club.

With Drag performances and miscellaneous entertainment throughout the day. We have 2 afterparties: featuring iQ KITTYBUMP @ PLAN B (21+ $5) and STUDIO 54 FRUIT FEST AFTERPARTY @ MAJESTIC w/ Mike Carlson, Vinnie Toma & Fuzzy Duck raising money for AIDS NETWORK.
